
The high school construction program is for students who are considering a career in the trades and would like to get a comprehensive overview to help determine the right path. Throughout the school year, students will experience all facets of construction including concrete, carpentry, roofing, framing, plumbing, electrical, and interior/exterior finishing work. The construction program will be open to students in 9th-12th grade and meets on each Tuesday of the month. Students will also receive industry recognized certifications in the following areas:
- Introduction to Residential Construction
- Rough and Finished Framing
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Interior Finishes
- Exterior Finishes
Students that are registering must be in grades 9-12 and there are spots available for 12 students. It is important for students to attend all scheduled sessions to learn all the skills. Meeting sessions are from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The high school construction programs are a continuum of each other. Students enrolled in September’s program will have priority to the following month’s programs.
