Casey Bohn

Casey BohnMy name is Casey Bohn, and I am a graduate of Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois. This fall I will be attending Drake University pursuing a degree in Pharmacy with a minor in Medical Spanish. Outside of academics, I enjoy participating in various fine arts activities, service organizations through my school, and studying foreign languages. I found out about
Hendricks CareerTek when I took a robotics class in middle school. I continued participating in Hendricks CareerTek programs like the Welty Center Summer Academy and the Medical Academy in High School. I am grateful for the opportunities that CareerTek has offered me and our community so that students can explore their interests in STEM fields.

Isabelle Clowes

Isabelle ClowesMy name is Isabelle Clowes and I am a 2023 graduate of Hononegah Community High School. Throughout my high school career I played on the tennis team, participated in National Honors Society, tutored for Students Offering Assistance and Resources, and a United Partner on the Special Olympics team. This fall, I will be attending Edgewood College’s new nursing program at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County campus, a program that I learned about through Hendricks CareerTek! I will be forever grateful for the experiences that Careertek has provided me throughout the years that have pushed me toward a career in nursing. Participating in the Scrubs program and receiving the CNA scholarship has allowed me to experience the occupation and fueled my desire to go into the nursing field. I am so thankful that Careertek has decided to award me this scholarship to allow me to be able to focus on my future!

David Devine

David DevineMy name is David Devine. I am graduating from Wisconsin Virtual Academy, where I am a member of the National Honor Society. I am planning on attending the University of Iowa this fall where I will be pursuing a Bachelor of Music in organ performance. Besides organ, I enjoy playing piano, saxophone, and guitar. I’ve been involved in my local 4-H club since second grade and am currently serving as vice-president. My favorite CareerTek program that I participated in was the Beloit International Film Festival student showcase. Watching my fellow participants’ productions was a lot of fun. This scholarship will help cover my expenses while at college, and I am very grateful to have received it.

Katarina Anamaria Dries

Katarina Anamaria DriesMy name is Katarina Dries and I am 2023 Craig High School graduate and current Engineering Intern at SHINE Technologies with a passion for nuclear engineering. In the fall, I will start my undergraduate studies at UW-Madison. My ultimate goal is to utilize cutting-edge technology to advance modern physics, and meet global needs in medicine, energy, and national security.

Throughout high school, I seized numerous opportunities to pursue my passions and I earned recognition for scholastic excellence, athletic and artistic achievements, community service and leadership in extracurricular activities. Consequently, I completed two years of college, and earned AP Scholar with Distinction Award, Scholastic Art Gold Key Awards, the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award and was honored as the 2022 YWCA Young Woman of Distinction. Most recently, I sharpened my leadership skills and community engagement through the Rock County Leadership Development Academy and as a City of Janesville Elections Inspector.

CareerTek has been incredibly helpful in aiding me with career exploration and in the college application process. The BizTank workshops and the CNA training were essential to my deepening awareness of career options and preparing myself for the professional world. The exceptional staff at CareerTek offered me invaluable support that enabled me to reach my full potential. I am more than thankful to have been awarded the senior scholarship.

Nadilee Fernandez

Nadilee FernandezMy name is Nadilee Fernandez. I am graduating from Beloit Turner High School. Throughout high school I have been involved in many extra curricular activities. I am a member of National Honor Society, the varsity basketball team, varsity golf team, outdoor pursuits club, and prom committee. I have also volunteered by reading to the youth, leading youth basketball camps, setting up prom, participating in canned food drives and many more! Out of all of the experiences I have been through, Hendricks CareerTek has been one of my favorites and has given me so many opportunities! I am very thankful for this scholarship and the financial opportunities it will provide me to start studying Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Devan Gosnell

Devan GosnellMy name is Devan Gosnell and I attend Clinton Junior Senior High school. I will be attending Edgewood College in Madison next fall to major in nursing. I aspire to be a nurse practitioner working in a women’s health clinic. I was inspired by my OBGYN to pursue women’s health and to help educate the wonderful women in my life on the amazing things the female body can do. I plan on starting off in labor and delivery as an RN to get some experience under my belt, and then going back for my masters degree after paying off some of my student loans. I am very thankful for Hendricks CareerTek supporting my dreams and helping me get my CNA certification and increasing my chances out there in the adult world. I am so ready to start college!

Emma Maly

Emma MalyHello, my name is Emma Maly and I am a graduating senior from Clinton High School. Next year, I will be going to UW-Oshkosh to pursue a nursing degree. While there, I will continue competing in Cross Country and Track.

Throughout high school, I have participated in several clubs/sports, volunteered with Crosstraining, been heavily involved in the Early College Credit Program (ECCP), and worked as a CNA. I was chosen for the Rock Valley Conference Academic Award and completed 35 credits at UW-Whitewater while in high school, allowing me to jump start my college career. Ultimately, I plan to become a Nurse Practitioner or a Physician. I have worked as a CNA at an assisted living, a day program for adults with developmental disabilities, and currently at a hospital. This has given me valuable experience and insight into the healthcare field I have chosen.

I am very grateful for this scholarship and the experiences that CareerTek has given me! I had the opportunity to go on some very unique and insightful field trips that were interesting, exciting, and helpful.

Maritza Santiago Martinez

Maritza Santiago Martinez My name is Maritza Santiago-Martinez and I’m a graduating senior at Beloit Memorial High School. I will be attending the University of Wisconsin- Madison where I will pursue a degree in Computer Engineering. I am incredibly grateful to the Hendricks Careertek Scholarship and staff for believing in my academic goals and helping me reach them. CareerTek has given me much exposure, I encourage everyone to use this wonderful resource in our community. In my high school years, I was involved in National Honor Society, Upward Bound, Key Club, and Leo’s Club, French Club. In the community, I am heavily involved with Youth2Youth for Change and FACT Wisconsin to educate on substance abuse. I have been recognized as a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar semi-finalist, an AP Scholar, selected for FACT Wisconsin State Board Representative, and working to earn my Global Scholar Award Seal of Biliteracy

After graduation, I will be attending the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities and majoring in dental hygiene in hopes of becoming a dentist or orthodontist. While in high school, I played softball, volleyball, and golf and was also involved in our school’s National Honor Society chapter, Science Olympiad team, prom committee, and band. I am so grateful for Careertek for the opportunities they provided for me. I got to explore different career options and learn what I enjoyed. They helped guide me and give me more confidence in what I wanted to do for my future career. I am very thankful for this scholarship and thankful for the amazing team at CareerTek that always gave their all to helping me succeed.

Anastasia SierenHi, I’m Anastasia (Ani) Rose Sieren and I am a graduating senior from Beloit Turner High School. I love music, theater, performing arts, reading and much more. I also am a member of Student Council, NHS, and am a leader in 2 student led acapella groups. I am going to be attending Viterbo University for a Bachelor of Music next year. With my degree, I hope to go into either vocal performance or choral music education. Hendricks CareerTek had some amazing opportunities for me and sparked my interest in

Olivia Stewart

Olivia StewartMy name is Olivia Stewart and I am a 2023 graduate from Hononegah Community High School.
Freshman through Junior year I played on Hononegah’s Girls Golf team, and have a strong passion for playing golf. Junior year of high school, I received the Certified Nursing Assistant scholarship through CareerTek. Receiving this scholarship opened my eyes to endless possibilities of what I can do as a career in the medical field. This year I have spent my time working at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL as a CNA in Float Pool to solidify my decision to continue my education in Nursing, specifically Bachelors of Science in Nursing! Next year I will be attending Milwaukee School of Engineering and I could not be more excited to be at such a great school. With the support of CareerTek and the opportunity to receive my CNA, I am sure the medical field is for me and I cannot wait to change the lives of those in need of care. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity to continue my education in the medical field once again, but this time I will leave with BSN, RN behind my name!! Matthew Wicklund

Matthew WicklundMy name is Matthew Wicklund. I will be a 2023 graduate of Hononegah Community High School. Over the past 4 years, I have participated in several extracurricular clubs, including Stand Up to Cancer, Extreme Sports, and Young Life, as well as participating in various community service projects. One of my favorite memories of high school is definitely leading the student section during the boys volleyball season. I had a rigorous course schedule over the past four years, including many AP and Honors classes. To help save money for college, I also worked part time at Blain’s Farm & Fleet in Rockton for nearly 2 years.

This fall I will be attending UW-Milwaukee. I will be majoring in Atmospheric Science
(Meteorology). My ultimate goal is to pursue a career with the National Weather Service. I am looking forward to working in their student run Innovative Weather Center. I will gain practical, hands-on experience in my field and be better prepared to start my career.

I have participated in several events at CareerTek, as well as simply using the facility to study. I found it to be a great resource for me. The workshops and seminars were great tools. They helped clarify things for me and I could get one-on-one help. I am so fortunate for all of the services this organization has provided. It has supported my interests through high school and helped me prepare for college in more ways than one. I encourage other students to participate in this great organization also.
