The high school innovation program at CareerTek is an introduction to CAD. Students will learn a 3D design software program called SolidWorks and will create 2D drawing and 3D models.
The skills/focuses in this program include:
- SolidWorks – CAD
- Program Functions
- 2D Sketches
- Basic 3D Modeling
Registration Opens August 1st
The student registration process will be conducted through a lottery system.
Students that are registering must be grades 9-12 with spots available for 12 students. It is important for students to attend all scheduled sessions to learn the skills required for the projects/tests. Sessions are from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Upon completion of this program and passing the exam, students will earn their SolidWorks Certified Associates, which can be used as a prerequisite for a Mechanical Design Degree.
