Noah M Everson - 2025 During my time at Turner I have participated in AP courses, been part of the science olympiad team, participated in sports such as cross country, golf and basketball, managed the football team and was an announcer for some of our home basketball games through our school YouTube channel.

I have enjoyed helping coach youth basketball games through Turner the past three summers.

I am grateful for the many opportunities to take academy courses through CareerTek since middle school. My favorite courses were Sports Careers and Wisconsin Business World classes.

My passion for sports and the opportunity to take classes such as these has led me to attend the University of Minnesota, Mankato in the fall to pursue a degree in Business/Sports Management and Marketing.

I am grateful to CareerTek for allowing youth in our area to experience working opportunities to help us navigate our future goals.

Keyera Floyd

South Beloit H.S.

Keyera Floyd | 2025 HCT Scholarship RecipientMy name is Keyera Floyd and I’m a senior at South Beloit High School.

A four-year varsity basketball player, I received various awards and achievements like First Team All-Conference and Conference MVP.

I plan to attend Governors State University in the fall to pursue a degree in Community Health and continue my basketball career.

I’m also involved in Student Council and served as the 2025 Homecoming Queen.

Outside of school and basketball, I enjoy baking, cooking, reading, and babysitting my nephew.

After graduating, I plan on pursuing a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, specializing in either physical therapy rehabilitation or neurology.

I am incredibly grateful for this scholarship from CareerTek, which will significantly support my future goals.

Olivia Graham

Rock County Christian School

Olivia Graham | 2025 HCT Scholarship RecipientMy name is Olivia Graham and I am currently a senior at Rock County Christian High School.

I am headed into the healthcare field and have been accepted into the Nursing program at Blackhawk Technical College. I first plan to receive my ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) through this two-year program. Then, after the experience I will receive with this degree, I will go further, obtaining my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing).

In addition to my love of learning, I enjoy painting, reading lots of books, and being a barista at my school’s coffee shop.

Throughout my years in high school, I took the initiative to paint a mural within my school, start a business, and gain my CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification.

I cannot thank CareerTek enough for all of the opportunities they offer each student. I now feel so prepared for my healthcare journey.

With my CNA certification, I was able to get a job at the Beloit Health System Hospital. Furthermore, I participated in CareerTek’s SCRUBS Summer Academy and a Healthcare Club held this year.

Because of all of the support offered by CareerTek, I can follow my career path. With this scholarship, I can go in the direction I feel called.

Ash Hevrin | 2025 HCT Scholarship RecipientMy name is Ash Hevrin and I am a proud, licensed EMT who attends both Rock Valley College and Hononegah High School.

By growing up with the resources, experiences, and opportunities Hendricks CareerTek has so graciously given me, I’ve been able to find my purpose exceptionally early in life: healthcare.

With this passion in mind, every decision I’ve made since—whether it be to begin college early, to work for my EMT license, to attend UW Eau Claire this fall, to major in neuroscience, or even to apply for this scholarship—my proudest decisions and achievements in life have all been in chase of the dream Hendricks CareerTek has opened my eyes to: saving lives.

I now have a drive and a hope for my future that I would have likely spent years searching for if not for the many opportunities this special organization has provided me.

For this reason, I would like to give my sincerest thanks to Hendricks CareerTek for all they have done for me, and all they will continue to do for those like me in the future.

Lauren Daisy Higgins | 2025 HCT Scholarship RecipientMy name is Lauren Higgins and I am a graduating senior from Beloit Memorial High School.

Throughout my high school career, I’ve engaged in all aspects of high school life: rigorous coursework, compelling extracurriculars, and invaluable community service. I am most involved in all things history, politics, social justice, leadership, and English.

Whether that be from involving myself in programs such as the Senate Scholars Program in Madison, WI, or various AP courses such as AP African American Studies, AP US History, AP World, and AP Government, I’ve endlessly immersed myself into the literary sciences.

Outside of academics, I maintain leadership roles such as the President of National Honor Society and Student Senate, working to find solutions to complex issues within the school through skillful event organization.

In addition, I find myself engaging in the musical world through being a participant in the Beloit Memorial Jazz Orchestra as the upright bass player.

As far as next steps, I aspire to continue my aspirations of becoming a lawyer by double majoring in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Law, Justice, and Social Change at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

I am eternally grateful for this scholarship from CareerTek and the staff’s undying dedication to providing support to students like myself in the Beloit area.

Autumn Meris | 2025 HCT Scholarship RecipientMy name is Autumn Meris, and I am a graduating senior at Beloit Turner High School. I am honored to be a recipient of the 2025 CareerTek Scholarship.

Throughout high school, I have been highly involved. I serve as the captain of the varsity softball team, president of Student Council, secretary of the National Honor Society, and am an active member in several other clubs. I take great pride in the leadership skills I’ve developed and have enjoyed volunteering for various organizations.

CareerTek has been instrumental in my career exploration. Everyone has been incredibly supportive, organizing job shadowing opportunities and providing me with the chance to earn the CNA scholarship. I completed my CNA certification last fall, which has been invaluable in helping me pursue a path in healthcare. It will also be a great asset in gaining hands-on patient-care experience.

This fall, I will be attending Viterbo University to study Biology on the Pre-Physician Assistant track! I also have committed to play softball for the V-Hawks softball team. I am deeply grateful to come from a hardworking and supportive family who has helped me reach this point.

All of this being said, I am sincerely thankful for the opportunities CareerTek has provided, including this scholarship, that will help me continue my education beyond high school.

Ethan Scherck | 2025 HCT Scholarship RecipientMy name is Ethan Scherck, and I am a senior at Turner High School in Beloit.

Throughout high school, I have been involved in a wide range of extracurriculars, including Cross Country, Wrestling, National Honor Society, Political Action Club, Student Council, Civics Team, Science Olympiad, Baseball, Outdoor Pursuits Club, and serving as a Peer Academic and Leadership Mentor.

In some of these, I took on leadership positions, including being a captain of both the Cross Country and Wrestling teams, as well as the President of my school’s National Honor Society and Political Action Club. Through these roles, I represented my school as an athlete, leader, volunteer, and fundraiser, benefiting my community and reinforcing my desire to pursue a healthcare career where I can continue making a difference.

Along with this, I work as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA, in addition to working as a construction youth apprentice at CCI during the summer.

In the fall, I will be attending UW-Madison, where I will major in Biology to pursue a career as a pediatric dentist or general dentist. After completing my undergraduate degree, I plan to attend Marquette University for dental school.

I want to thank CareerTek for this scholarship, as well as the countless other opportunities they have provided me. Because of CareerTek, I was given the support to explore my career options, allowing me to find and focus on my desired career path for the future.

Taliyah Ukwuorji

Rock County Christian School

Taliyah Ukwuorji | 2025 HCT Scholarship Recipient My name is Taliyah Ukwuorji and I am a graduating senior from Rock County Christian School.

Throughout high school, I have been deeply involved in numerous activities which have laid a strong foundation for my future career. Dedicated to serving the community through healthcare, I created the Ukwuorji Foundation which strives to abridge the healthcare staffing shortage through the next generation. Additionally, I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Oak Park Place and as an at-home caregiver.

Athletically, I participated in varsity basketball and served as my team’s captain. I was honored to complete my high school career with an All-State, 2 All-Conference, and an MVP award. I also participated in volleyball, track, dance, and gymnastics.

In my free time, I enjoy planning elaborate birthday parties, cooking various ethnic cuisines, and going on adventures with my siblings.

This fall, I will be attending either St. John’s University in Queens, New York or Howard University in Washington, DC. Double majoring in Healthcare Administration and Political Science, I aspire to work on the business and political end of healthcare.

Since 2017, I have participated in over 40 CareerTek programs, including the CNA scholarship/course, a job shadow at Beloit Hospital, the CPR certification, Girls Who Code, SCRUBS, and so many more. I was even able to assist in teaching the afterschool healthcare program for middle school students for a semester.

I thank the CareerTek staff for creating a wonderful environment for learning and for giving me the opportunities to gain experience and knowledge about a multitude of careers. I am extremely appreciative to have been awarded this scholarship.

Elly Vegge

Rock County Christian School

Elly Vegge | 2025 HCT Scholarship RecipientMy name is Elly Vegge, and I am grateful for this wonderful scholarship and opportunity.

I am a senior at Rock County Christian School, and I have maintained my position on the High Honor Roll for my entire high school career. To further my education, I am a Porter Scholar at Beloit College where I am able to take college classes while still in high school.

After graduation this spring, I will be studying at the University of Wisconsin Rock County.

CareerTek has helped to prepare me in so many ways, from earning my CNA to developing simple life skills. I hold a great love for all that CareerTek has to offer, and I hope that I can bring that feeling of love to others who need it.

As for my future, my biggest goal for these next few years is to continue my love of learning by educating myself in the medical field as much as possible. I am eager to begin my journey into the medical field as a forensic nurse or as a flight nurse and to continue my education by earning my master’s degree.
