Dental Hygiene Intro

The Dental Hygienist Camp will take place in Blackhawk Technical College’s on-campus dental clinic and lab. Participants will explore the dental hygiene profession while engaging in hands-on activities in a real clinical setting.

What Students Will Learn:

• Proper handwashing techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• How to use a dental mirror for oral assessments
• Operation and positioning of a dental chair
• Use of air/water spray and suction tools
• How to assess risk factors for cavities
• Introduction to interproximal cleaning tools and techniques

REQUIREMENTS:

Participants MUST wear closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back securely. (PPE provided by Program)
