Join us for Biotech Discovery Day, a one-day summer academy where middle school students explore the science of life through fun, hands-on experiments. Participants will extract DNA, investigate microbes, and discover how biotechnology impacts health, food, and the environment—all while building real lab skills and working as a team.
What Students Will Learn:
- Basics of biotechnology and its real-world applications
- Hands-on techniques such as DNA extraction and microbial investigation
- Introduction to lab tools, procedures, and safety practices
- The role of biotechnology in health, agriculture, and the environment
- Teamwork and problem-solving in a lab setting
Requirements:
Participants should come prepared with:
- Closed-toe shoes
- Long pants
- Long hair tied back
