Explore the World of Forging!
Students will have the opportunity to:
- Tour Scot Forge’s facility in Clinton, WI
- Participate in hands-on activities
- Learn about careers in the forging industry
- Work with hot and cold forging of copper and steel
Introductory blacksmithing activities that emphasize safety, basic skills, and simple projects will be covered.
What is Forging?
Forging is a manufacturing process where metal is pressed, pounded or squeezed under great pressure into high strength parts known as forgings.
It is the method used to make parts for the most critical and demanding applications such as:
- Aerospace
- Defense
- Power generation components
Students will learn about these applications and why forging is such an integral part of modern manufacturing.
Requirement:
- 8 Students MAX.
