Construction Club | FALL 2023
12-week (one semester) long project
The construction club at CareerTek is a 12-week (one semester) long project in which students are working to learn construction skills and build a scale model house. During this program, students gain the opportunity to earn Industry Recognized Certifications upon completion.

- Sept 6th- Measurement
- Sept 13th- PPE/machine and tool safety
- Sept 20th- Site estimates
- Sept 27th- Laying out a site
- Oct 4th- Pouring concrete
- Oct 11th- Floor framing
- Oct 18th- Wall and ceiling
- Oct 25th- Roof framing
- Nov 1st- Roofing and materials
- Nov 8th- Windows and doors
- Nov 15th- Exterior wall finish
- Nov 29th- Interior wall framing
Registration opens August 15th. Students that are registering must be in grades 10-12 and there are spots available for 12 students. It is important for students to attend all Wednesday meetings to learn all the skills. Meetings are from 4:00-6:00. (Note: by completing this program, students will be eligible to participate in our SUMMER OSHA 30 training class.)
