Beloit’s Ironworks campus has steadily emerged in the last few years as a local employment hot spot and a burgeoning regional hub for the technology industry.
Now, Ironworks owner and local business mogul Diane Hendricks wants to see the sprawling former foundry complex in downtown Beloit redevelop some of its space as a place to hatch Beloit’s workforce from out of the community’s younger ranks.
As early as January, Ironworks’ newest tenant, Hendricks CareerTek, plans to open its doors as a new, 4,000-square-foot career center its organizer says will offer a range of programs, mentoring and educational support to Beloit middle school and high school students.
