Organizing Parter
The Beloit International Film Festival is excited to announce the revival of its popular community outreach program, the BIFF Student Filmmaker Showcase.
It’s a great opportunity for 9-12th grade students to collaborate with professional filmmakers and learn now to make movies with mobile phones that look like… well… movies!
The program will be comprised of five consecutive Wednesdays starting on January 29, 2020. Sessions will begin at 4pm at Hendricks CareerTek in Beloit and will include snacks and soft drinks, followed by instruction provided by Beloit filmmakers Marjorie and Brenton Driscoll of Peer Canvas.
Students will learn how to write, direct and edit as they complete their 5 minute short films. During the 5th session on February 26, students and their friends and family will be invited to gather at Bushel & Peck’s, a BIFF festival venue in downtown Beloit, where all of the finished films will be screened and discussed. And finally, one lucky film will be given a Student Filmmaker Showcase BIFFy Award!
The program will be limited to 20 students, so it’s important to sign up as soon as possible if you’re interested in participating.
