An educator for more than twenty years, I first began my career as a high school English teacher. I enjoyed my time in the classroom but wanted the challenge of impacting students on a greater level. Having completed my undergraduate degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, I began work on my master’s degree in administration at UW-Milwaukee where I earned my administrative license. After several years in the classroom, I transitioned into administration where I enjoyed my time serving three different districts as a high school principal. In 2011, I completed my Ph.D. at UW-Madison. While this was a major commitment and undertaking, it was an important accomplishment for me personally and professionally.
Currently, I have the opportunity to step outside of public education while still working with the young people in our community to grow of our future workforce. Hendricks CareerTek is made possible by a generous grant from the Hendricks Family Foundation to the Stateline Boys and Girls Club. CareerTek is an intersection for young people and the business community. Students are able to explore careers, acquire skills and experience authentic work environments as they investigate and eventually build their future pathway.
I am excited and thankful to have this one-of-a-kind opportunity to impact our future workforce and community. Come check us out!
