Dr. Tina Salzman

Business & Education Director

An educator for more than twenty years, I first began my career as a high school English teacher. I enjoyed my time in the classroom but wanted the challenge of impacting students on a greater level. Having completed my undergraduate degree at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, I began work on my master’s degree in administration at UW-Milwaukee where I earned my administrative license. After several years in the classroom, I transitioned into administration where I enjoyed my time serving three different districts as a high school principal. In 2011, I completed my Ph.D. at UW-Madison. While this was a major commitment and undertaking, it was an important accomplishment for me personally and professionally.

Currently, I have the opportunity to step outside of public education while still working with the young people in our community to grow of our future workforce. Hendricks CareerTek is made possible by a generous grant from the Hendricks Family Foundation to the Stateline Boys and Girls Club. CareerTek is an intersection for young people and the business community. Students are able to explore careers, acquire skills and experience authentic work environments as they investigate and eventually build their future pathway.

I am excited and thankful to have this one-of-a-kind opportunity to impact our future workforce and community. Come check us out!

Susan Day

Director of Education Services

I was born and raised in Beloit, attending McGlenegan Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, Aldrich Middle School and Beloit Memorial High School.  After high school I continued my education at UW Whitewater graduating with a BSE and MSE in Elementary education.  Returning to Beloit, I married my husband where we raised our three children.  My two boys both graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, while my daughter is currently in her senior year.

I started my career teaching one year of third grade, and quickly discovered my passion to teach early primary.  I continued teaching first grade for 27 years, 20 of those years in the School District of Beloit.  After one short year of being away from teaching, I felt a void of working with children and making a difference.  I accepted the position of Director of Education Services at Hendrick’s CareerTek knowing I will have the opportunity to continue my passion of working with the youth of the Beloit Community.  I now work with young people who could have been at one time one of my past first grade students.  I am honored to have this opportunity to continue my desire of making a difference at Hendricks CareerTek.
